Fly from the Flinders to the Channel Country
The Hip Outback Hotel
The Prairie Hotel, family owned and operated, has been licensed since 1876, and is acknowledged as one of the Hip Hotels of the World. Accommodation is in 4 Heritage rooms, and 8 architecturally designed in-ground Executive and Deluxe rooms all with exclusive access to a guest lounge.
The self-contained Fettlers Cabins exude Prairie style, and the Prairie Overflow provides private air conditioned ATCOs with shared bathroom facilities. Powered sites and a Community Campground are also available.
Locals and visitors, famous and infamous, congregate in the hotel to savour the feral and notso-feral food for which the Prairie is renown and to enjoy our local hospitality, the Art Gallery or just ‘hang out’. Whether it is 4WD tours of the Flinders Ranges or flights with Fargher Air it all starts at the Prairie Hotel. Relax with a Fargher Lager and immerse yourself in a Parachilna sunset on the front verandah.
Retro Country Fare and The Flinders Range
Sampling the Prairie cult, ‘Flinders Feral Food’ was listed in the Top 100 Gourmet Experiences in Australia 2010 & recently recognised as 1 of 20 Unmissable Outback Experiences for 2012 Travel Itineraries.
We have packaged some of our favourite accompaniments from our signature Prairie menu allowing you to self-cater at home or on the road with The Flinders Range from the Prairie Providore. The Flinders Range produce also adds a native twist to our recently introduced ‘retro country fare’ menu which features old-fashioned country favourites.
Our very own beer, Fargher Lager, is available in take home 6 packs, and we have a range of Prairie Hotel merchandise to keep you in the Prairie mood long after your visit.
Prairie on O’Connell
Prairie on O’Connell is bringing Prairie hospitality to the city of Adelaide.
For a great food and wine experience, the O’Connell Inn is nestled amongst lively cafes and restaurants, and is in easy distance of the Barossa and Clare Valleys, Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Peninsula. The beach and airport are a 15-20 minute drive away, the city 5 minutes, and it’s en route to and from the Prairie Hotel at Parachilna.
The O’Connell Inn’s new restaurant, ‘Prairie on O’Connell’, brings a touch of the celebrated Flinders Ranges ‘Prairie Hotel’.
